This may sound weird, but the language use in this game is so... Japanese-y. As if it were translated from Japanese, as opposed to originally written in English. Or perhaps just written by someone who plays a lot of JRPGs but never reads regular English novels? Was it a deliberate choice to evoke a sort of cheesy otome game aesthetic, or was it subconscious? It adds to the effect, don't get me wrong, but it would sound ragingly unnatural as English dialogue.
As a professional manga translator, this game is giving me so many confusing feelings. I'm not sure I want this style of writing to be a thing. But maybe it should be a thing. Is this what weeaboos want, now? I don't know. I don't know how to feel about this.
Either you're a deep-level weeaboo, a Japanese person who immigrated to an English-speaking country around middle school and is now bilingual, or a genius-level writer who did it all deliberately and consciously. I just totally have no idea which.
I agree, I have some awkward lines in there. My language skills are probably deteriorating from my lack of social contact after holing myself up to make stuff like this. The puns had me cracking up a lot. My boyfriend was playing on the Xbox and I was at the desk a few feet away, and he would hear me laugh and say something like, "Man, you're really enjoying yourself, aren't you?" I probably looked/sounded like a crazy person for the better half of my playthrough, haha.

Hi! Just to let you know that I really liked your game! The art and the script together were perfect in my opinion! I will also play the other game of the serie! Altough my original language is French (yeah, I'm really bad at writting in English so if you don't understand, it's ok! ), I was able to read trough it pretty easily (and since I'm better at reading than writting) !
I've played this game from it's Steam release, and I'm delighted to see you made more games. I'll play the other titles as soon as I can!
To get back to the point, I really love this game. It's short and straighforward, but it doesn't need anything more, to be honest. The characters look gorgeous and they are overall lovely personality wise too. I think Anton is my favorite, but Yvin's story made me cry so much.
Not to mention the CGs wich are gorgeous too, and the cute and lighthearted humor.

I love this game! I sat here for 5-6 hours straight to read this. No. Freaking. Regrets. (Who needs sleep, anyways?)Graphics, pictures, music, everything is just amazing.
Although my favorite route was Anton because of the story and plot twist, (was it really a plot twist? I dunno, my vocabulary is just really small) my favorite character was Yvin. He made things a bit more interesting, and his route was really punny! I'll... stop... But if that really was your "Inner Sass", then you're probably awesome af. I can't wait to play the other two games. (I think it was almost a miracle that I saw this one first.)
Okay, so, I actually got this game a few months back, but finally sat down to play it tonight. Let me just say--it's amazing! I laughed pretty continuously, which is always a good thing! (I relate slightly to Yvin, so...) The characters look fantastic, absolutely incredible, and the plot is cute, too. It may sound odd, but I think my favourite parts were with the story teller. Those scenes were different, almost softer, and I truly loved them. I think if you ever made a game (of any sort) along those lines, it would become my new favourite!
Even if you never do, though, this is definitely one I'll be playing again and again. With pretty music, amazing design, and a cute story to boot (with a sense of humour that actually had be dying of laughter at one point, and I'm literally laughing just thinking about it), it is a game worth it. You did an amazing job and I look forward to playing your other games, and even just replaying this one! Thank you!

Stayed up until 6am this morning playing through all the routes and I only somewhat regret it (so so tired). I love all of the characters, including the ghosts and punny wood sprite. I wouldn't mind a game where it's just Yvin and Florien being forced to go on an adventure together (maybe add some ghosts for extra fun). This series is definitely going on my favorite games list!

Wait...who's Ais already? I've got a bad feeling that he's the sweet Magician or Prince we meet in a city... The one I went heels over head about and fatefully ended up pinning after for the rest of the long story, until pretending to be interest in the others guys became too hard and I had to quite playing.

Saw this on here and I redownloaded the game so I can hear the new music!! I checked my files and saw that I first downloaded in October last year (Has it been that long already?!). I love the writing, and adore the art style! The puns, the humor, ugh. So good. And it's free to play?! We don't deserve this amazingness ahh Thank you so much for such an amazing game!! To tell the truth, I was a bit skeptical at the beginning if I should play this game. But now that I've played it, I DO NOT REGRET A SINGLE THING. This is simply one of the most amazing game I have played! (and the first one who gave me A LOT of laughs--especially with Yvin and Florien.)
I especially liked the scenes in Ven's dungeon, especially on Anton's route. And I just want to thank you for making this game wonderful. I think it's now a part of my life, in otome life anyway.

This game was absolutely AMAZING. Pretty music, pretty graphics, hilarious but sweet story and simply adorable characters!
At the start of the game, I was set on Florien but when Anton was introduced, I thought he was the dark and brooding type so I went for him first just for fun but no! He was actually a sweet but dense guy (Loved Florien's and Yvin's comments about it. XD Hilarious!). After that, I decided that I would go for Florien next (It was really hard to ignore him) and I LOVED it! He was just soooo ADORABLE! He's a little obvious with his feelings since he just keeps getting so flustered! (He's so cute,I swear-) But when he just saves Ciel, I just lost it. Like, it was so sweet of him! And when he asked to kissed her I just started fangirling so hard! Then I got kinda disappointed by the fact he didn't kiss Ciel on the lips-- but he's the only one (other than Ais) who actually kissed her so I'll let it slide.
Speaking of Ais, I was kinda disappointed that he didn't have a route but you had time limitations so I understand.
Yvin's route felt kinda rushed to me but it was entertaining! (The ending though!)
The post-story extra, specifically Meeting the King, was just HILARIOUS for me! The way Florien and Yvin get nervous about it, saying how their lives were at stake and all that really cracked me up! I'm pretty sure Anton was nervous about it as well, but the redhead being the tough guy he is went with it anyway.
The other post-story extra (The dinner thing) was just HILARIOUS! XD I just lost it when Yvin started talking about the fanfiction.
TL;DR/All in all - Everything's really pretty and I really loved the funny scenes. Florien's my fave (HE'S SO PRECIOUS), Anton is second. (Poor Yvin).
P.S. Anholly just finished downloading, I'll leave a review for it later!

Someday, just maybe, could you create a game with an Ais route? I want there to be a girl that can make Ais happy, walking through the sky and laughing with him, doing silly tricks and smiling. Ais is surrounded by girls but for some reason she is different, he loves her. I might just be gushing, but it is so hard not to fall in love with a character like Ais!! I'm not even finished with my first playthrough yet, but I'm completely enthralled. I want whole novels about this universe! I want to know about all the in between adventures Anton, Florien and Ciel go on! ( With Yvin tagging along at their heels of course. ) I have fallen wildly in love with not just these characters, but also your storytelling.
( And speaking of Yvin it has been a long while since a game character has made me crack up nearly as much as he does! )
I think one of my biggest problems with Otome games is that all the female characters seem to fall into the same, stereotypical, ditzy, I-could-be-you-if-you-squint types. But Ciel is something new! Refreshing! Likeable! Fun! She's someone I myself would love to be friends with, and that's something remarkable in a character.
Most Otome games I play through once to follow my favorite guy, then skip through a second or third time just to get the juicy bits on the other guys I liked. But with your game, I want to put it down for a few weeks and pick it back up to follow another line so I can appreciate the whole story again. I mean, everyone from Ciel to Ven to Ais I am invested in!
And that's not even mentioning your gorgeous artwork! ( Which speaking of, you haven't got a Tumblr by chance have you? Maybe a Pixiv? I want to keep track of you and all your fantastic projects! ) The details are just enough to be entrancing without being overbearing and the subtle changes in expression really make the characters! And god your BACKGROUNDS!

Wow... I absolutely loved this visual novel. It's very interesting. Wonderful art, good character development, and a nice storyline. On my first play through I picked Florien and I enjoyed it. Although I suddenly found myself loving Yvin and developing a crush on him (embarrassing to say here... but hey... honesty...) and when I finished the game, I definitely wanted to play Yvin's route. I'm surprised I pronounced his name right the first time. Which reminds me. Very creative names, I love them. (Did you have a inspiration for the names, or were they random?) I'm not even going to try and make this 'review' look professional. I was a good game, and I enjoyed all of it, even the puns. I look forward to playing Magical Otoge Anholly! (P.S. I started playing otome games and visual novels last year as some sort of last minute way to get through boredom in the summer, but I came to like them a lot and now I have a whole lot of them. I came across this just yesterday, and I've finished all the routes just now and oh my god I knew I just had to gush and compliment and talk about this visual novel because daaannggggggggggg IT'S AMAZING. AND THE PUNS THE PUNS THE PUNS. AND THE ART THE ART THE ART. Okay I have to calm down. But seriously, I had a lot of fun and I can't wait to play all your other visual novels too! I don't think I've ever face-palmed, laughed or saved screenshots so much for just one visual novel (my screenshots are like, 50 now just because of puns). It really made my day. I hope you make a lot more visual novels haha
When i downloaded this at first its ok. But then suddenly it stopped, like i can't move my mouse or i can't use it. I even restarted my pc for the nth time. Because everytime quit the game the sounds are still on. And i'm afraid if i download it again then all of the saved scenes will be gone. So as the scene where i stopped. ( well not specifically because every minute i'am saving the scenes afraid that my mouse won't be working again but i assure you the mouse isn't the problem the game is ) Other than that i'm pretty sure the plot is wonderful so i can't just forget about this. So i need to know what should i do. Any suggestions, please?
Well, it's not every year that I find a visual novel with more than one or two characters I can find attractive. So finding more than four in just one game was a tiny amazing event for me. (Now I wish I we could romance and bring absolutely every guy, including Märchen—especially Märchen, back home by the end of the game/// What have you done?) In its sweet, clever and glamorous way, Magical Otoge Ciel has truly made my day.
Either I'm really confused or am getting some kind of error while trying to use the save and load features. Q.Save and Q.Load work perfectly fine but when I try to use regular save and load a screen full of game code comes up instead. Other than that I'm quite enjoying myself and have finished Anton's route which was really good.
When Yvin appears suddenly in Viern and his music cuts in I was so surprised my laughter nearly woke my roommate up. Basically, 11/10, thank you for this game.
I downloaded it on a whim, knowing nothing about it... I expected it to be a pretty short game, and ended up staying up really late to finish it. Worth it. I haven't done Florien's route yet, but Ymir is just too my type so I'll just probably... skim through it... Sorry Florien :')

I love this game! I sat here for 5-6 hours straight to read this. No. Freaking. Regrets. (Who needs sleep, anyways?) Graphics, pictures, music, everything is just amazing.
Although my favorite route was Anton because of the story and plot twist, (was it really a plot twist? I dunno, my vocabulary is just really small) my favorite character was Yvin. He made things a bit more interesting, and his route was really punny! I'll... stop... But if that really was your "Inner Sass", then you're probably awesome af. I can't wait to play the other two games. (I think it was almost a miracle that I saw this one first.)

Okay, so, I actually got this game a few months back, but finally sat down to play it tonight. Let me just say--it's amazing! I laughed pretty continuously, which is always a good thing! (I relate slightly to Yvin, so...) The characters look fantastic, absolutely incredible, and the plot is cute, too. It may sound odd, but I think my favourite parts were with the story teller. Those scenes were different, almost softer, and I truly loved them. I think if you ever made a game (of any sort) along those lines, it would become my new favourite!
Even if you never do, though, this is definitely one I'll be playing again and again. With pretty music, amazing design, and a cute story to boot (with a sense of humour that actually had be dying of laughter at one point, and I'm literally laughing just thinking about it), it is a game worth it. You did an amazing job and I look forward to playing your other games, and even just replaying this one! Thank you!

Wow, thank you very much! I feel a bit guilty since Anholly's game is significantly shorter and contained than this one, but the Magical Otoge Iris demo is out too, so maybe that will make things feel more fulfilling (the demo is quite long, around 2 hours). I hope you enjoy that as well! :-)
Stayed up until 6am this morning playing through all the routes and I only somewhat regret it (so so tired). I love all of the characters, including the ghosts and punny wood sprite. I wouldn't mind a game where it's just Yvin and Florien being forced to go on an adventure together (maybe add some ghosts for extra fun). This series is definitely going on my favorite games list!
I just saw Anholly and now I can't wait to play it!

Wait...who's Ais already? I've got a bad feeling that he's the sweet Magician or Prince we meet in a city... The one I went heels over head about and fatefully ended up pinning after for the rest of the long story, until pretending to be interest in the others guys became too hard and I had to quite playing.

Saw this on here and I redownloaded the game so I can hear the new music!! I checked my files and saw that I first downloaded in October last year (Has it been that long already?!). To tell the truth, I was a bit skeptical at the beginning if I should play this game. But now that I've played it, I DO NOT REGRET A SINGLE THING. This is simply one of the most amazing game I have played! (and the first one who gave me A LOT of laughs--especially with Yvin and Florien.)
I especially liked the scenes in Ven's dungeon, especially on Anton's route. And I just want to thank you for making this game wonderful. I think it's now a part of my life, in otome life anyway.

This game was absolutely AMAZING. Pretty music, pretty graphics, hilarious but sweet story and simply adorable characters!
At the start of the game, I was set on Florien but when Anton was introduced, I thought he was the dark and brooding type so I went for him first just for fun but no! He was actually a sweet but dense guy (Loved Florien's and Yvin's comments about it. XD Hilarious!). After that, I decided that I would go for Florien next (It was really hard to ignore him) and I LOVED it! He was just soooo ADORABLE! He's a little obvious with his feelings since he just keeps getting so flustered! (He's so cute,I swear-) But when he just saves Ciel, I just lost it. Like, it was so sweet of him! And when he asked to kissed her I just started fangirling so hard! Then I got kinda disappointed by the fact he didn't kiss Ciel on the lips-- but he's the only one (other than Ais) who actually kissed her so I'll let it slide.
Speaking of Ais, I was kinda disappointed that he didn't have a route but you had time limitations so I understand.
Yvin's route felt kinda rushed to me but it was entertaining! (The ending though!)
The post-story extra, specifically Meeting the King, was just HILARIOUS for me! The way Florien and Yvin get nervous about it, saying how their lives were at stake and all that really cracked me up! I'm pretty sure Anton was nervous about it as well, but the redhead being the tough guy he is went with it anyway.
The other post-story extra (The dinner thing) was just HILARIOUS! XD I just lost it when Yvin started talking about the fanfiction.
TL;DR/All in all - Everything's really pretty and I really loved the funny scenes. Florien's my fave (HE'S SO PRECIOUS), Anton is second. (Poor Yvin).

Someday, just maybe, could you create a game with an Ais route? I want there to be a girl that can make Ais happy, walking through the sky and laughing with him, doing silly tricks and smiling. Ais is surrounded by girls but for some reason she is different, he loves her. I might just be gushing, but it is so hard not to fall in love with a character like Ais!! I'm not even finished with my first playthrough yet, but I'm completely enthralled. I want whole novels about this universe! I want to know about all the in between adventures Anton, Florien and Ciel go on! ( With Yvin tagging along at their heels of course. ) I have fallen wildly in love with not just these characters, but also your storytelling.
( And speaking of Yvin it has been a long while since a game character has made me crack up nearly as much as he does! )
I think one of my biggest problems with Otome games is that all the female characters seem to fall into the same, stereotypical, ditzy, I-could-be-you-if-you-squint types. But Ciel is something new! Refreshing! Likeable! Fun! She's someone I myself would love to be friends with, and that's something remarkable in a character.
Most Otome games I play through once to follow my favorite guy, then skip through a second or third time just to get the juicy bits on the other guys I liked. But with your game, I want to put it down for a few weeks and pick it back up to follow another line so I can appreciate the whole story again. I mean, everyone from Ciel to Ven to Ais I am invested in!
And that's not even mentioning your gorgeous artwork! ( Which speaking of, you haven't got a Tumblr by chance have you? Maybe a Pixiv? I want to keep track of you and all your fantastic projects! ) The details are just enough to be entrancing without being overbearing and the subtle changes in expression really make the characters! And god your BACKGROUNDS!
You've made me want to finally stop ducking around it and try my own hands at making an Otome game. Truly.

Wow... I absolutely loved this visual novel. It's very interesting. Wonderful art, good character development, and a nice storyline. On my first play through I picked Florien and I enjoyed it. Although I suddenly found myself loving Yvin and developing a crush on him (embarrassing to say here... but hey... honesty...) and when I finished the game, I definitely wanted to play Yvin's route. I'm surprised I pronounced his name right the first time. Which reminds me. Very creative names, I love them. (Did you have a inspiration for the names, or were they random?) I'm not even going to try and make this 'review' look professional. I was a good game, and I enjoyed all of it, even the puns. I look forward to playing Magical Otoge Anholly! (P.S. I thought the Bunny Slime and the Ghosts were the cutest things I've ever seen.)

I started playing otome games and visual novels last year as some sort of last minute way to get through boredom in the summer, but I came to like them a lot and now I have a whole lot of them. I came across this just yesterday, and I've finished all the routes just now and oh my god I knew I just had to gush and compliment and talk about this visual novel because daaannggggggggggg IT'S AMAZING. AND THE PUNS THE PUNS THE PUNS. AND THE ART THE ART THE ART. Okay I have to calm down. But seriously, I had a lot of fun and I can't wait to play all your other visual novels too! I don't think I've ever face-palmed, laughed or saved screenshots so much for just one visual novel (my screenshots are like, 50 now just because of puns). It really made my day. I hope you make a lot more visual novels haha

When i downloaded this at first its ok. But then suddenly it stopped, like i can't move my mouse or i can't use it. I even restarted my pc for the nth time. Because everytime quit the game the sounds are still on. And i'm afraid if i download it again then all of the saved scenes will be gone. So as the scene where i stopped. ( well not specifically because every minute i'am saving the scenes afraid that my mouse won't be working again but i assure you the mouse isn't the problem the game is ) Other than that i'm pretty sure the plot is wonderful so i can't just forget about this. So i need to know what should i do. Any suggestions, please?
I'm sorry, but it doesn't seem like others have had this problem! It might be a problem with your computer, not the game.
Well, it's not every year that I find a visual novel with more than one or two characters I can find attractive. So finding more than four in just one game was a tiny amazing event for me. (Now I wish I we could romance and bring absolutely every guy, including Märchen—especially Märchen, back home by the end of the game/// What have you done?) In its sweet, clever and glamorous way, Magical Otoge Ciel has truly made my day.

Either I'm really confused or am getting some kind of error while trying to use the save and load features. Q.Save and Q.Load work perfectly fine but when I try to use regular save and load a screen full of game code comes up instead. Other than that I'm quite enjoying myself and have finished Anton's route which was really good.
I fixed it; I had forgotten to put a font file in the game's folder. Sorry for the trouble!

When Yvin appears suddenly in Viern and his music cuts in I was so surprised my laughter nearly woke my roommate up. Basically, 11/10, thank you for this game.
I downloaded it on a whim, knowing nothing about it... I expected it to be a pretty short game, and ended up staying up really late to finish it. Worth it. I haven't done Florien's route yet, but Ymir is just too my type so I'll just probably... skim through it... Sorry Florien :')
